Delinquency is a major epidemic and it is getting worse as time goes on. Adolescents are getting arrested for assaults and crimes in unprecedented numbers. The correction facilities and juvenile courts system cannot keep up with it.

Current programs already in place to combat the issue are overwhelmingly inadequate. This is what lead the government to issue grants to help find solutions where these children live and go to school in an attempt to help them before they get into the “system”.

The Community Prevention Grants Program (Title V) has provided local governments and communities with money through Federal grants in order to plan and develop programs and resources to help prevent delinquency among the youth. This can feel like an almost impossible task as delinquency rates seem overwhelming. Thankfully, there is hope.

Now that you’ve received money for the Community Prevention Grants Program (Title V) it is time to put it to work in the best way possible. What you need is a youth motivational speaker to come and speak about preventive measures schools can take to prevent bullying and drug usage with students.

This should be your first step, when hiring an educated and knowledgeable youth speaker with expertise in these areas, he will assist you in developing a foundation on which to build up the rest of your delinquency prevention program.

Why hire someone to come and speak? Most planning and collaboration problems occur because people don’t get on the same page about issues, usually due to ignorance. Having someone who can not only motivate and inspire people to get involved, but also educate them and teach them about the core issues and effective solutions can you effectively get the synergy needed to really accomplish your prevention goals.

The absolute best youth speaker for the job is Fabian Ramirez. He knows how to reach teenagers where they are at and bring them up to a new level. He has expertise in Anti-Drug prevention programs, Anti-Bullying programs, School Dropout Prevention programs, Youth Leadership programs and more. If you are looking for more than to simply have him speak, he also leads seminars and facilitates workshops to make sure you get the help that you need.

Adolescent delinquency is a problem we can no longer ignore. If what you have been doing in the past is not getting you the results you want, why not give something new and bring in a fresh, yet proven perspective? Book Fabian Ramirez to speak at your school or community event today.

Every school in America has a bully on campus. The problem is that most students and educators don’t have a plan in place to deal with bullies. Schools can be proactive in their approach to prevent bullying by inviting a youth speaker who was bullied and knows how to handle a bully. Fabian Ramirez is a school bullying speaker and speaks to thousands of students every year on the topic of bullying.

“I feel like it’s my job to be a voice for students who are being bullied because I know what it’s like to be bullied. One is embarrased to speak up for themselves and many fear that is they speak up they will get in trouble or that the bullying behavior will get worse”, Fabian said during one of his bullying presentations.

Bullying is a hard topic to speak about to teens because it’s not a funny subject but Fabian has a way of connecting his story in a humorous way and students walk away from his presentations empowered to face bullies on campus.

If you are a counselor or Principal of a school, you should strongly consider inviting Fabian Ramirez to your campus to speak to your students. He will talk to them about the definition of bullying and will leave the audience speechless when he talks to them about the consequences related to bullying behavior. His story telling is second to none and will leave your students on the edge of their seats.

Most importantly, he will help change the culture of your school by bringing teens to his side and asking them to help him put an end to school bullying on campus. If you are ready to see your campus change, bring in Fabian to speak to your students and watch how your students start to respect each other by making better choices on and off campus.

FCCLA

Family Career and Community Leaders of America is a nonprofit organization for young people in both public and private schools. FCCLA has family as it’s central focus. It operates with the school as a vocational student organization. Students have the opportunity to participate locally, at the state level and nationally. The base of operations for FCCLA is Reston, Virginia. Originally know as The Future Homemakers of America, the organization merged with The New Homemakers of America in 1965 and focused more attention on career preparation.

DECA
Distributive Educational Clubs of America also has a college level organization. It was founded in 1946 and more than 10 million students have participated in it’s programs for business professionals. DECA improves college preparation and career work by providing co-curricular programs that work with classroom instruction, applying learning as it relates to business and connects business and the community and promotes competition. Student members leverage their DECA experience to become prepared, community minded, responsible leaders.

Lead For Diversity
Lead for Diversity is a week-long leadership program for high school and college students. Lead For Diversity focuses on diversity in New Jersey and is presented by the American Conference on Diversity Youth Leadership Institute. Participating schools select a delegation of students that displays an interest in diversity and inter-group relations, motivation, and leadership abilities. The program includes interactive workshops, small group experiences, and experiential learning. Participants gain the needed skills to be successful with conflict resolution. This program is free for New Jersey high school and college students.

The goal of youth leadership conferences it to provide young people with skills needed to be leaders in their schools and local communities. Programs are available across the country and several programs exist for “at-risk” young teenagers. If you represent a conference and would like to hire a youth speaker, please contact us.

Elementary schools across the United States will annually host an assembly where the whole school will gather to hear a guest speaker or see an educational presentation. These type of programs usually run about an hour and depending on the size of your venue, you can probably get the whole school to particpate instead of breaking up the presentation by grade levels.

If your grade school is interested in hosting a school assembly, here are some suggestions as you plan your event.

1. Get the most out of your event – Try and book your assembly in the morning and see if you can get the presenter to do something in the afternoon as well. This is especially good if your school is big enough to have two or three assemblies in a single day.

2. Plan around a special event – Look on the school districts calendar and figure out a day where you can piggy back off of a special event during the year. For example, most schools will have state testing and it would be a good idea to bring a youth speaker to motivate students to perform their best on the test. Another event that occurs every October is called Red Ribbon Week where students get to learn about staying away from drugs and alcohol.

3. Know the needs of your school – If your school is dealing with a crisis or kids are dealing with a bully and you don’t know how to handle it, educate all students by booking a school bullying speaker as a neutral person who can address the issue. Not only that but the speaker can make learning about a serious issue fun and entertaining so that the message sticks.

4. Stay within budget – Some schools budget for assemblies and some don’t, just like field trips. However there are so many ways to gather funding for an assembly and it’s worth it to invest in your students.

Get your students excited about school again by hosting an assembly at your Elementary school and bringing in a youth motivational speaker to keep your kids on the edge of their seats.

School administrators, counselors and teachers doing research on inspiring speakers, are you ready to change the culture of your high school?

Schools have a tendency of doing the same programs year after year and bringing in the same speakers with the same message.

It’s time to bring a youth speaker to your high school to motivate your students to kick it up a notch. Just like adults, teenagers need a boost of confidence that can be spoken into them through a motivational speaker. Imagine your students in the gym, cafeteria or auditorium sitting on the edge of their seats laughing and listening to a young energetic speaker sharing humorous stories while motivating them to live out their dreams by making positive decisions at school.

Do you want your students talking about college and becoming leaders at your high school?

Truth is, your students are hungry for something new and different, fun and innovative, so planning an assembly at your school demonstrates to your students that you care about them.

A speaker who targets teens understands the social characteristics that they have and presents a message that breaks barriers that are often in place between students and school administrators. Students are interested in adult roles that include leadership and high-level decision making yet most are not challenged to live out their potential at school. Students are the leading factors of cultural change, so if you want to change the school’s culture, get students motivated to take action.

Why it’s best to invest in a speaker?

If you are planning a youth event at your high school, it’s best to invest in a keynote speaker that can make you, the event planner, look good. A hired speaker will produce the results you want for the following reasons: 1. they know you are investing in your students and 2. they want you to refer them to your colleagues. So why not get your students excited about a future event that will change their lives.

School bullying is becoming an increasingly aggressive form of harassment. It comes in the form of verbal, physical or psychological abuse. Bullies may use hitting, punching or any other form of physical violence on their victims. They may verbally assault them or threaten their victims with violence. For the children who are the target of bullying it can be a devastating experience. It affects their performance, their self-esteem and can alter how they interact with others students as well.

Fabian Ramirez, a school bullying speaker says the following:

Bullying is reduced when victims surround themselves with true friends instead of bystanders

Many victims of school bullying are picked on or harassed for reasons that would normally be a compliment. For example they are too smart or they have lots of friends. Some become the target because they don’t look strong or able to defend themselves. It happens on school grounds, which may include inside classrooms, hallways or playgrounds. It is also a very isolating experience for victims as well.

Bullying may cause anxiety in some children and affect how well they perform in school. Good grades may decrease because of the torment and they may also want to stop going to school altogether. Depending on the level of torment they may find excuses to stay home or begin to ditch class as a result. It can also cause depression in school aged children and encourage anti-social behavior. Parents may notice their children become less talkative or disinterested in social situations. They may want to spend more time in their room or away from others.

Bullying occurs in almost every school. It may be viewed as harmless behavior but has been the cause behind many school shootings and violent retaliations. It can escalate out of control in a very short time and should be taken seriously before it is too late. Being aware of bullying and watching out for signs can help prevent a devastating situation later. Watch your child’s mood as well as behavior and create a safe environment for them to talk and express themselves. The more comfortable they are talking to you can help eliminate the harassment they face on a regular basis. Be empathetic and take bullying seriously so you can take effective action.

On my recent trip to Chicago I read an article in USA today about how Americans are feeling that Education is not as valuable as it once was. The economy has taken it’s toll on the value of Education. I agree to an extent but research still shows that people with a degree make more money than their counterparts.

The value of Education is still there but people are going to have to choose what school they are going to attend because some schools are overpriced. This is true so if you are a parent, do your research on schools in your area or a state school as a primary choice. Some schools will help financially with tuition as well.

Before you say no to higher education be sure to check out the kind of job you want to be doing in the future and look at the requirements of those positions. Most jobs have prerequisites and the first being a college degree.

If your students are having a hard time grasping the importance of college, consider hiring a youth speaker come to your school to share the benefits of attending college so they can catch a vision to one day be a college graduate.

Youth get to decide what experiences they will have in life.

It’s so true! The choices that youth make today will impact the life experiences they will have in the future. My wife and I discuss this all the time. As I’ve spoken to young people throughout the years, the message has always been the same, plan for tomorrow by what you do today.

My twenties have been filled with class after class, i’ve taken at least fifty courses in my twenties, yes that’s 50 minimum undergrad, graduate and a couple doctorate level courses. I’ve got to tell you, not all were fun, but all were necessary to get me to where I am today.

Also in my twenties, i’ve been able to take vacations to: Florida, Colorado, DC, California, London and Paris, and of course all over Texas. The best part of all is that my wife and I did this by being debt free. Why? Because the decisions I made when I was younger, impacted the experiences that I get to have today. What will your experiences look like based on what you are doing today?

Salazar is already booked for Red Ribbon week which occurs the week of October 23-31, 2010. He will be speaking at several schools in the Dallas / Fort Worth area in Texas.

Gabe Salazar is a Professional Youth Speaker who travels the world giving teens a message of hope. Gabe was born to a teen mom and was abandoned by his biological father. He says he felt his birth was merely an accident, but when he discovered his purpose as a teen motivational speaker, he realized his life was “no accident.” His focus is helping teens make positive choices and giving them a reason to dream.

Bullying Prevention Month 2010

Ramirez on the other hand gets to share his message about school bullying, a topic that is becoming popular with this speaker. He endured bullying in middle school so his message comes straight from the heart to the students that get to hear it. Fabian has been able to train youth and adults during the summer and partnered with community centers from the City of Fort Worth.

Fabian’s true passion is motivating students to pursue a higher education. He has given keynotes and seminars titled, Barrio to the University. He gives details about how he went from being horrible in math to receiving a Masters degree in Management.

Today, both these Latino youth speakers are anxious to what the new school year will bring them and looking forward to having a positive influence in the lives of teens across America. America is looking more and more Latino, and now thanks to these two, so are professional speakers. Contact us for bookings.
